The cost of attorney fees is ordinarily a major concern of Family Law clients, but this is especially true in today's economic climate.  Everyone has heard the stories about divorce attorneys walking away from a case with more money than their clients.  Essentially, in such cases, the client gives his or her attorney a retainer fee, and in no time the attorney burns through it, billing at a high hourly rate for anything and everything. The client must continue to come up with more money, until he or she simply doesn't have any more to give.  In many cases, the hourly billing process described above creates resentment between attorney and client, jeopardizing their working relationship. I understand your obvious concerns and apprehensions regarding attorney fees.
